I am really pleased with the way the team have responded to the poor performance and defeat to Billingham Synthonia a fortnight ago. On Wednesday night [at home to today's opponents Darlington RA in the Ernest Armstrong Memorial Cup) I though the performance wasn't important but the result was and it was important to bounce straight back result wise and we did just that. I thought we beat Darlington RA with a little in hand on Wednesday and with 5 first team players missing.
Then on Saturday again I was over the moon with having six lads out where we showed a lot of heart. The first twenty minutes or so belonged to Northallerton but after that I thought we were the better side playing good controlled football and we're looking the more likely side to go on and pick up all three points - until the disappointing sending off with twenty minutes to go, but in the end I think it was a good performance and a good point away from home. Just a special mention to Niall Fingleton only 17 years old and played well beyond his years.
Next up is Darlington RA again, only this time in the league. We'll be looking for more of the same to steer us further clear of the bottom two.
